Students at IEC Schools Shine in Annual Model United Nations (MUN) Conferences
At IEC Schools, education extends far beyond the classroom. Each year, our students proudly participate in Model United Nations (MUN), an internationally recognized academic simulation that allows young people to explore the world of diplomacy, debate, and international cooperation.
For our students, MUN is more than just an extracurricular activity; it is a transformative journey. Representing countries from across the globe, they step into the role of ambassadors and policymakers, tackling some of the most pressing issues of our time, climate change, human rights, security, global health, and more. Through research, position papers, and dynamic debates, our students learn to analyze complex problems, think critically, and advocate for creative solutions.
The annual MUN conferences give our students the chance to collaborate with peers. This exposure not only strengthens their communication and negotiation skills, but also deepens their appreciation for diverse cultures and perspectives. In committee sessions, they practice diplomacy, build alliances, and draft resolutions, experiences that mirror the real work of the United Nations.
Participation in MUN has consistently brought out the best in our students. Many returns with awards for their leadership, research, and public speaking skills, but the greatest reward is their personal growth. They emerge from these conferences more confident, articulate, and equipped with the skills needed to thrive in university and beyond.
